France 6 - France needlepoint/tapestry kit

It may not be the oldest flag of a nation but the Tricolore of France is definitely one of the most recognisable.
The French government website states that the white field was the colour of the king, while blue and red were the colours of Paris. The three colours are occasionally taken to represent the three elements of the revolutionary motto, liberté (freedom: blue), égalité (equality: white), fraternité (brotherhood: red).
The blend of blue, white and red hues of yarn are stitched to give the finished piece the appearance of blowing in the wind.
 
(The canvas has been printed differently to the other canvases in this collection so that it makes it easier for you to follow the undulations of the shades of white.)

It is recommended that the canvas is worked in a scroll frame and NOT A HOOP. The canvas has been designed to fit inside a 18inch (45cm) scroll frame. (Frame not included in kit)
