France 4 - Deudeuche (2CV) needlepoint/tapestry kit
***This is a Kit and not a finished item***
The Citroen 2CV or Deux Chevaux-Vapeur was the little car designed for farmers, that got France back on its feet again after World War II. It was an instant hit when it was launched, and motoring became available to all.
It was in production from 1948 until 1990, and in that time only incurred a few modifications, but the instantly recognisable classic design remained throughout its production.
In France it acquired the nickname and still is affectionately known as ‘la deudeuche’, a play on its 2 cylinder boxer engine. Now a rarity on french roads, it still brings a smile to peoples faces and has a cult following.
Also, I have deep affection for the 2CV as I had one of these as my first car.
